ABOUT

Win $1000! Enter our free "The Impact of Reckless Renewables" national photo competition. Use your photographic skills to capture and share the negative effects of commercial wind turbines, high voltage transmission towers, grid solar systems, pumped hydro facilities, and grid batteries on farmers, fishermen, the land and sea, wildlife, the environment, communities, and everyday life. Opens 2nd April 2024 and closes 1 June 2024. Send up to three original images via email below:

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

  1. Eligibility: a. Anyone living in Australia, regardless of age, can participate. b. Both professional and amateur photographers are invited to join.

  2. Theme: a. The competition theme is "Reckless Renewables - Impact in Images." b. Participants should capture the negative effects of the rapid adverse impact of wind turbines, high voltage transmission towers, grid solar systems, pumped hydro facilities, and grid batteries on farmers, fishermen, the land and sea, wildlife, the environment, communities, and everyday life.

  3. Submission Period: a. The competition starts on April 2, 2024. b. All entries must be sent in by June 1, 2024, at 12pm.

  4. Entry Requirements: a. Each participant can submit up to three photos. b. Photos should be in digital format (JPEG or PNG) and not exceed 10 MB each. c. All images must be original and not previously published.

  5. Submission Process: a. Entries should be emailed to recklessrenewables@gmail.com. b. Each submission should include a short description (up to 100 words) explaining how the photo relates to the theme and permission to display the photos and photographer's name on this website (however any request for anonymity will be respected). Please include contact details.

  6. Judging Criteria: a. Entries will be assessed based on creativity, relevance to the theme, technical proficiency, and overall impact. b. The decision of the judging panel is final.

  7. Prize: a. The winner will receive a $1000 cash prize. b. The winning photo will be published with proper credits.

  8. Intellectual Property: a. Participants maintain the copyright to their photos. b. By entering, participants give the organisers permission to use the images for promotional purposes. Photos will be published on this website and the name of the photographer where permission has been provided by email.

  9. Publicity: a. Winners may be asked to take part in publicity activities, such as interviews and social media posts.

  10. Disqualification: a. Entries that don't follow the rules or contain inappropriate content may be disqualified. b. Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.

  11. Notification: a. The winner will be notified via email within two weeks after the competition ends. b. If the winner cannot be reached within 14 days, the prize may go to the next best entry.

  12. Miscellaneous: a. The organisers (NREN) reserve the right to change or cancel the competition due to unforeseen circumstances. b. By entering, participants agree to these terms and conditions.
